Small Lifestyle Alterations can create Positive Change

Early in 2008 Apple Wellbeing visited a company to carry out health assessments and consultations for members of staff. One year later Apple Wellbeing revisited them and carried out follow up health assessments to review any progress or regression.

Three key factors contributing to poor health and wellbeing are lack of exercise, excessive alcohol consumption and smoking. Levels of improvement were recorded in all three areas.

Completing 3+ hours of exercise 8% improvement
Exceeding Alcohol upper limit 21% improvement
Smoking 9% improvement

Due to these improvements one would expect general health and wellbeing to improve alongside them. This did turn out to be the case, with the most significant improvements recorded in:

Recommended Diastolic Blood Pressure 21% improvement
Resting Heart Rates 8% improvement
Blood Cholesterol levels 41% improvement
Blood Sugar levels 22% improvement

Through the combination of doing more exercise, reducing alcohol intake, reducing smoking and generally being more aware of diet, significant improvements have been made in areas that were originally of concern, in some cases (i.e. cholesterol, blood sugar) a major concern.

Apple Wellbeing will be following up these health assessments again in a years time to review any further progress or regression.
