How does exercise effect your health?
Apple Wellbeing Seminar drives Company Wellbeing Initiative
After attending an Apple Wellbeing seminar a recruitment firm who have offices situated in 3 areas across the UK as well as offices in the United States and India, asked Apple Wellbeing to carry out a health screening initiative with its UK based employees.
As part of the health initiative Apple Wellbeing suggested that they could produce a health audit for the company not only to compare the health of their company to others around the UK but also that it may be beneficial to them for Apple Wellbeing to draw comparisons between offices as well. This would allow them to see which offices were healthiest and for what reasons. Once comparisons were drawn, some very interesting findings were identified in their company health audit.
Sheffield, London and Bristol were the 3 locations of UK offices. It was found that Bristol had the most active workforce with 100% of individuals taking part in 3 hours of exercise or more per week, in comparison to only 29% in Sheffield and 22% in London. The office that took part in the most exercise, were found to also have the best health. They had no blood pressure sufferers, the lowest average resting heart rate, the lowest percentage of overweight people, no individuals with high waist to hip ratios along with good blood sugar and cholesterol results.
These results demonstrate the overwhelming relationship between completing 3+ hours of exercise per week and good health.
