Environmental Policy
Apple Wellbeing recognizes the environment as one of its key priorities and is committed to doing all it can to protect and enhance our environment for today and for future generations. The Apple Wellbeing Environmental Policy supports this commitment. It also supports the Apple Wellbeing statement of commitment to sustainable development and its intention that sustainability should underpin all of Apple Wellbeing’s activities.
Apple Wellbeing will aim to:
- Reduce the environmental impact of its:
- Waste generation;
- Energy and water consumption;
- Purchasing of goods and services;
- Transport and travel.
- Protect, conserve and enhance wildlife, human heritage and local distinctiveness.
- Promote a safe, healthy and better quality environment.
- Minimise and where possible eliminate the release of any pollutant, which may cause environmental damage to air, water or land.
- Promote the conservation and more sustainable use of both renewable and non-renewable resources.
Apple Wellbeing will work towards these aims by:
- Integrating environmental aims into its business planning process.
- Educating, training and raising awareness of environmental issues amongst staff, Members and the public.
- Raising awareness of environmental issues with our contractors and suppliers and encouraging them to work similar environmental standards.
- Consulting with staff widely as possible on new environmental activities to encourage their involvement wherever possible.
- Minimising the risk of environmental damage by assessing new and existing policies, activities and practices for their environmental effects and by adopting safe technologies and operating procedures.
- Setting objectives and targets for continually improving our significant environmental impacts.
- Complying with legislation, regulations and other requirements to which Apple Wellbeing subscribes.
- Taking all reasonable steps to comply with recognized best practice for activities and services that result in significant environmental impacts.
- Measuring, monitoring and reporting on progress towards these aims to staff, Members and the public.
- Reviewing the environmental policy, objectives and targets annually and considering the need for any changes that may be necessary.
